Jeannette Kawas
The National
Park Jeannette Kawas (the original name was Punta Sal) is
located at 15 kilometers north east of the city of Tela ,
Department of Atlantida.
The park has an extension of 780 km
and 64% of this total area is de nucleon zone (approximate 500
km)
The natural and cultural
actractives are expectaculares marine landscapes (beaches and natural
bays) with a lot of different variety of coastal ecosystems (mangrove forrest
,marshes, lagunes and reefes) and also tropical wet forrest.
The
Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) who handles the National
Park Jeannette Kawas is the Foundation for the Protection of
Lancetilla, Punta Sal and Texiguat (PROLANSATE). The

IIn the surrounding area you
can find the National Park Punta Izopo
at the east site of the city of Tela and also the Botanic garden Lancetilla.
